Sintered Stone Tabletops: A Specifier's Guide

Sintered Stone Tabletops: A Specifier's Guide — KCK.Outdoor inspiration

How sintered stone is made

Sintered stone is produced by compacting natural minerals and firing them above 1200°C. The result is a fully vitrified, non-porous slab with no resins or glazes to fail outdoors.

Why it suits outdoor dining

  • Stain-proof: wine, oil, and citrus will not penetrate the surface.
  • UV-stable: colour will not fade under direct sun.
  • Heat-resistant: a hot plate will not scorch the top.
  • Low maintenance: routine cleaning with mild soap and water.

Specifying thickness and edge

For dining tables we recommend 12 mm slabs on a stabilised aluminium or powder-coated steel sub-frame, with a mitered or pencil edge profile. Pair with our outdoor dining furniture and review the trade FAQ for project pricing.
